Members of the Joint City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) and City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) convened last October 27, 2022, to hold their 4th Quarter Meeting at Sweet Mommy’s Restaurant, Pala-o, Iligan City. In lieu of the City Mayor as the CPOC/CADAC Chairman, Vice Mayor Marianito Alemania presided over the said activity.

OIC City Director Maria Maida Daniot presented the Administrative Order (AO) No. 90, reconstituting the CPOC of Iligan City. Three (3) select Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) were also in attendance, pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2022-83.

The meeting highlights reports and updates given by the council members who are heads of the different offices namely Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

As Head of the Secretariat, OIC CD Daniot led the discussion on the creation of three (3) Special Action Committees (SACs) that will focus on addressing issues and concerns on insurgency, criminality, and crisis management in the city, in reference to the DILG MC 2019-143.

Further, the meeting also served as a venue to discuss local guidelines and safety protocols to be implemented in observance of the #UNDAS2022 in the city. It concluded with the council’s approval of the proposed resolutions, and the adoption of a specific schedule to hold regular meetings of the CPOC. (𝘋𝘐𝘓𝘎 𝘐𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘯 | 𝘔. 𝘙𝘢𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘯)
