The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), through the City Planning and Development Office, officially commenced activities leading to the formulation of the PDP 2023-2028 with its kickoff Local Consultation on the Formulation of the Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2023-2028 in Iligan City on November 8, 2022.

Participants from the executive and legislative branches of the local government, with the participation of other sectors, including the business sector, civil society organizations, and NGOs, especially those representing the marginalized sectors were present during the consultation with DILG Acting Program Manager Villebette Sato representing the Department.

The activity intends to engage the local government units and other stakeholders in crafting the plan to ensure ownership and consider local aspects of development are included in the RDP 2023-2028 and ensure consistency, convergence, and complementation of the RDP with various local-level development plans.

As such the event ended with a strengthened linkage between the regional and local levels of planning, investment programming and budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation especially on prioritizing programs, projects, and activities that will have an impact not just in the locality, but the region as a whole.
