The Iligan City AIDS Council (ICAC) convened last November 15, 2022, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall to hold its regular meeting.
Mayor Frederick Siao, the council’s chairperson, presided over the said activity to discuss the salient agenda that concerns the ICAC. Dr. Glenn Manarpaac, the co-chairperson further facilitated the discussion on the upcoming World AIDS Day celebration come December 01, 2022. Also in attendance is City Councilor and Committee on Head Chairperson, Simplicio Larrazabal.
As a member of the ICAC, LGOO II Mohammad Rehan Raopan represented OIC – City Director Maria Maida Daniot at the meeting, together with other representatives from multi-sectoral groups and department heads from the LGU. He assures the commitment of the office in mobilizing efforts to have both the City and Barangay LGUs participate in the activities laid out for the said activity.
The meeting also highlights the proposed amendments of the City Ordinance No. 11-15677 of 2011, to strengthen the ICAC and provide protection for those who are infected with either HIV or AIDS in the city. (𝘋𝘐𝘓𝘎 𝘐𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘯 | 𝘔. 𝘙𝘢𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘯)
