To update the Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan (POPS Plan) of the city, the Local Government of Iligan, in partnership with the DILG Iligan City headed by OIC – City Director Maria Maida Daniot, conducted a Provincial Orientation and Workshop on the Formulation of the POPS Plan FY 2023-2025 pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2022-118.

Convened by the Office of the City Planning And Development Coordinator (CPDC) headed by Enp. Venerando O. Bordeos on November 15, 2022, the event gathered various functionaries from the Iligan City LGU, and representatives from PNP, AFP, BFP, PDEA, and partner CSOs.

OIC – City Director Maria Maida Daniot spearheaded the provision of technical assistance and facilitated the 2-day planning workshop, with DILG Iligan City being the POC Head Secretariat. She also presented the POPS Guidelines and Situation Matrix, to serve as springboards in crafting the POPS Plan for the next three (3) years.

The event held various activities which included strategy formulation, implementation arrangements and funding requirements, presentation of output, and critiquing. It concluded with the formulation of the draft plan for approval of the CPOC and adoption of the Sangguniang Bayan.

With these activities, the Iligan City Local Government and DILG seek to help one another and be attuned to the city’s ‘π˜Όπ™¨π™šπ™£π™¨π™€ π™„π™‘π™žπ™œπ™–π™£π™€π™£!’ mantra by ensuring that public safety, peace, and order are enjoyed by the local citizenry.

Considered as an action plan to attain proper protection and security in a progressive community, the POPS Plan is a comprehensive and collaborative project conducted within a three-year timeline. Moreover, POPS Plan served as a response to the problems that obstruct peace and order among local government units. (π˜‹π˜π˜“π˜Ž 𝘐𝘭π˜ͺ𝘨𝘒𝘯 | π˜”. π˜™π˜’π˜°π˜±π˜’π˜―)
