Iligan City Task Force on Illegal Drugs met today to discuss with identified barangays the necessary intervention and preparation for their application and implementation for drug clearing. Thru the ICADAC Office, interventions for the Persons Who Use Drugs (PWUDs) such as community-based rehabilitation, rehabilitation thru Bahay Silangan and aftercare activities are being implemented.

OIC City Director Maria Maida Daniot commits her full support to the team in addressing the drug-problem by mobilizing the participation of Local Government agencies to provide work opportunities and gain their dignity and a place in our society.

This is also an avenue where barangay officials, ICADAC, CSWD and DILG strengthen their partnership in preventing illegal drug use in the community. With this, the roles of BADAC and LGU’s in the conduct of illegal drug clearing operations are clearly defined.

Meanwhile, OIC-CD Daniot and Acting Program Manager Villebette Sato met with the focal person on Peace and Order and Public Safety to prepare for the upcoming Organizational Meeting of the City Peace and Order Council and the Peace and Order and Public Safety Planning. The latter is part of the 200 days of the Local Chief Executive. (𝘋𝘐𝘓𝘎 𝘐𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘯 | 𝘔. 𝘙𝘢𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘯)
