The Junior Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines-Iligan Bay Chapter (JIECEP-IBC) commenced the two-day JIECEP Joint Regional Summit 2023 with the theme “AMPLIFY – Boosting Capabilities to Reach Limitless Potential” on May 20, 2023 held at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) Gymnasium.

This convention was a gathering of Electronics Engineering (EsE/ECE) and Electronics Engineering and Technology ( EsET/ECET) undergraduate students, as well as professionals under the JIECEP-IBC. Among the participating schools were MSU-IIT, MSU-Main Campus, Saint Peter’s College (SPC), La Salle University (LSU)-Ozamiz, and the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines-Cagayan de Oro (USTP-CDO)—a guest university from the JIECEP Misamis Occidental Chapter (JIECEP MisOc).

According to the adviser of JIECEP-IIT, Asst. Prof. Kevin O. Maglinte, the summit aims to promote camaraderie and fellowship among ECE and ECET students and push advocacies for JIECEP to meet the electronics needs of the community. Prof. Maglinte raised that this was the return of the JIECEP Summit since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Opening the event with a message was Prof. Jefferson A. Hora, the Governor-elect of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines-Iligan Bay Chapter (IECEP-IBC). Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Officer, Engr. Adrian M. Parcon, PECE, and XINYX Semicon’s Engr. Meynard Hamak also gave informative talks during the program. Engr. Parcon tackled about Air Navigation System Trends – Future Air Navigation System (FANS), while Engr. Hamak shared a lecture on the Intro to the IC Design and Layout Landscape.

Following the opening ceremony, students participated in various academic, literary, cultural, and sports events throughout the course of this two-day convention.
