ILIGAN CITY (PIA) – The city government here is looking forward to partnering and collaborating with Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) to strengthen the involvement of the academe in the communities.

City Administrator Darwin Manubag said in a Facebook post that “everyone is excited because the partnership is envisioned to be the most comprehensive, inclusive and policy-solution oriented engagement between the two institutions.”

Manubag added that the collaboration ranges from organizing policy researches colloquium to expertise maximization in addressing water, drainage, solid waste issues, health care, Information and Communications Technology, digitization of the local government units (LGU), traffic, environmental protection, livelihood, museum development and many more.

The partnership will also help departments in both institutions in developing programs that will support their respective offices and the general public.

Next week, a technical working group will be established so that the departments can determine the concern issues of their offices.

Manubag said they are looking forward to the partnership to serve as a model collaboration between the academe and LGU in Northern Mindanao.
