ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–More than 3,200 job vacancies were offered by 15 local employers and 3 overseas companies during the “Maagang Pamasko” Job Fair here.

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) spearheaded the event in partnership with the Department of Labor And Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Christian Horizon School Inc., USAID Opportunity 2.0 Project and other agencies.

“This is conducted in line with our celebration of Christmas. This is our Christmas gift for the constituents in Iligan City and also in the nearby municipalities,” said Katherine Xyra Quitos-Angara, officer-in-charge of PESO.

Meanwhile, Jennylyn Sy, a job seeker, is happy for the opportunity provided by the Job Fair. She applied for a human resources staff position in a company and is now waiting for the results of her job interview and exam

“I saw this job fair post on Facebook. I am very happy as a job seeker especially now that the holiday season is coming. This is a great help for us,” she said.

A one-stop shop was also established by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Trade And Industry, Technical Education And Skills Development Authority, PhilHealth and Social Security System to assist job seekers in acquiring requirements for their job applications.
