ILIGAN CITY, June 22 (PIA)–Citizens here are seen to have great interest to register for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) or National ID System.

This, after the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Lanao del Norte has achieved an approximate count of 180 applicants on the first day of the commencement of the program on Monday, June 21, and with clients continuously visiting the installed registration booths.

“Dili na namo need imarket kay para sa general public is importante gyud kaayo ang national ID and I am very thankful nga bisan sa kamubo nga panahon, daghan na kaayo nisanong,” said PSA-Lanao del Norte Chief Statistical Specialist Osler Mejares in an exclusive interview during his second day of overseeing the established hub situated at Robinsons Mall Iligan
.
[We do not already need to market because to the general public, the national ID is really important and I am very thankful that even for a short time, a lot really participated.]

Currently, the PSA-Lanao del Norte serves registrants in the city through its two booths at PSA new building and the above-cited mall and in the municipalities of Balo-i, Tubod and Lala all in the province of Lanao del Norte while registration hubs in the municipalities of Kapatagan and Sultan Naga Dimaporo are still soon to open due to noted circumstances.

To support the PSA-Lanao del Norte’s assessment of the visible interest in PhilSys registration, citizens expressed their perspective on how significant the program is to their future transactions.

“Importante kaayo ni kay bisan asa ka paingon, mao gyud daw ni imong ipakita… Bisan unsa, magamit gyud daw ni. Maong naencourage gyud ko [nga mukuha] kay importante man kaayo,” said Angelina Subido, a walk-in client from Brgy. Tubod in this city.

[This is very important because anywhere you go, you will really show this… Whatever it will be, this will really be useful. This is why I was really encouraged [to avail] because it is very important.]

Meanwhile, they also urged their fellow Iliganons to make use of the program as an opportunity to benefit the government’s aim of one identification for all transactions.

“Avail lang para dali ra kung pangitaan og ID. Dili nata pangitaan og lain pang ID,” said Leslie Edo, a walk-in applicant from Brgy. Sabayle in this city.

[Just avail so that it will be easy when requested for ID. We will no longer be asked for another ID.] (CRG/PIA-10/ICIC)
