As part of the DILG’s intervention to improve service delivery and administrative performance of the barangays, DILG Iligan city held the barangay secretaries’ monthly regular meeting earlier today, October 17, 2022, at the ABC Hall, Brgy. Pala-o, Iligan City.

Highlights of the said meeting include reminders on relevant information on the Conduct of the 2nd Semester Barangay Assembly, implementation of Barangay Peace and Order and Public Safety (BPOPS) plan and Barangay Anti-Drug Plan of Action (BADPA) in their respective barangays. Further, the barangay secretaries raised their issues and concerns during the open forum facilitated by OIC-City Director Maria Maida Daniot, and look forward to a harmonized league where they can help and reinforce each other whenever needed.

The event aims to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in preparing their respective BPOPS and BADPA, to identify programs, projects, and activities that will address safety and drug abuse-related issues in their communities.

Recognizing the efforts and appreciating the unwavering public service rendered by the Barangay Secretaries across forty-four (44) Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) in the city, the event concluded with the awarding of certificates to those who have shown exemplary performance with regard to their timely submission of regular reports in accordance to the guidelines set by the department.
