ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–The Iligan Medical Center College’s first school fair, held four years after the onset of the pandemic, was a significant event aimed at promoting resilience, renewal, and unity among the students and faculty.
The fair was organized with the theme “Strive for Resilience: Racing Towards Renewal and Unity,” reflecting the spirit of overcoming challenges and coming together as a community.
The fair was held following the lifting of the State of Public Health Emergency in the country due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
The school fair featured a variety of engaging activities that provided a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills.
Some of the highlights include a fun run, Search for Mr. and Ms. Icon, and booth exhibits.
“The main aim of the booths is to promote and showcase the different skills, talents, and activities and inform the different stakeholders as well as the students of the different content, information as well as the course information of the different programs that are offered by our college,” said Dr. Mark M. Alipio, part of the marketing team and the program head of the College of Radiologic Technology.
The booths displayed the diverse programs and offerings of the IMCC.
Each booth highlighted specific academic disciplines, extracurricular activities, and student projects.
Students are also elated with the return of festivity in their colleges after the pandemic.
“I am happy since this is the first ever IMCC Fair. Ang medtech students nag-gather sa ilang strength, knowledge, and skills to create this booth. Thank God, nahitabo jud siya after the pandemic [The medtech students gathered their strength, knowledge, and skills to create this booth. Thank God, it really happened after the pandemic],” said Princee Mae Mañigos, 3rd year Medical Technology student.
The school fair served as a platform to celebrate the resilience and achievements of the Iligan Medical Center College community after enduring the challenges brought about by the pandemic. It provided an opportunity for students to engage in various activities, share their talents, and strengthen their bonds of unity and renewal.
