In celebration of love and commitment, The local government of Iligan City conducted this Kasalan ng Bayan for the 97 lovebirds in time for Valentine’s Day.
This day is made more special with unique sets of couples. The oldest participating pairs are Melitona Lumantas – age 81, and Elicito Sumaya – age 67. The youngest pair is Erica Orbeso – age 22, and Raphael Actub – age 24. And the most special is the PWD pair who is deaf-mute, Mr. and Mrs. Nazria Bansuan and Juphel Realse. Hence, the ceremonial rites were also attended by an interpreter for clearer communication. The number of couples is also proof that Iliganons are beaming with love for one another. In our term, “ga-uros nga gugma.”
The Mass Wedding was officiated by Hon. Mayor Frederick Siao.
