On April 15, 2024, a successful buy-bust operation was conducted in Barangay Saray, Iligan City, resulting in the arrest of five (5) drug personalities.
This anti-drug operation was led by the PDEA RO-X Lanao del Norte Provincial Office and its’ Seaport Interdiction Unit, in collaboration with the Iligan City Police Office – Police Station 5.
The operation took place earlier today, and uncovered approximately seven (7) grams of shabu, with an estimated market value of Forty-Nine Thousand Pesos (Php49,000.00).
The arrested individuals include Alias Goyang, a 75-year-old resident of Barangay Saray, who is a known as a drug maintainer; Alias Marjun, 31, a Job Order Employee at the PSA from Barangay Acmac-Mariano Badelles; Alias Dio, 49, a visitor of the drug den from Barangay Saray; Alias McJ, 34, another visitor of the drug den from Barangay Saray; and Alias El, 22, also from Barangay Saray.
These individuals are in violation of Art. II of RA 9165. Their arrests demonstrate the effectiveness of joint efforts by law enforcement agencies in combating illegal drug activities and protecting communities. The successful operation is a significant step towards maintaining safety and order in the region.
