National Flag Day Celebration

The City Government of Iligan City headed by Mayor Frederick W. Siao, observed the Philippine National Flag Day celebration, with a motorcade around the city and a commemorative program thereafter at the City Public Plaza, today May 29, 2023. The event was participated by City Officials, National Government Agencies, CLGU personnel, Barangay Officials, Private Organizations, Civil Society, members of the AFP and PNP. Representing City Director Maria Maida Daniot is DILG OIC Program Manager Villebette Sato, and Engr. Janzen Wong. It was a remarkable experience filled with a deep sense of patriotism and pride for the country.

The program commenced with a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem by the Buhanginan Choir, composed of City Government personnel, stirring emotions of unity and loyalty. Cultural performances showcasing the rich heritage and talent of the Iliganon were also rendered and captivated the audience.

The highlight of the celebration was the flag-raising ceremony. Slowly but with great reverence, the Philippine flag ascended, accompanied by a solemn rendition of the national anthem. It was a powerful moment, signifying the hard-fought freedom and sacrifices of the nation’s heroes.
