The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Iligan City recently attended the 2nd Stakeholders meeting for the “Advancing Disaster Risk Reduction and Anticipation in the Most Vulnerable Communities in the Philippines” project, organized by the Red Cross Iligan City chapter. The meeting was a significant gathering that aimed to discuss strategies for strengthening anticipatory action in disaster risk reduction, particularly focusing on the most vulnerable communities.

The event was well-attended by representatives from the 5 target barangays for the anticipatory action disaster risk reduction, as well as various schools in Iligan City. During the meeting, CD Maria Maida Daniot, representing DILG, expressed wholehearted support and commitment to the project. Her presence and endorsement further solidified the importance and relevance of the initiatives discussed during the session.

The meeting took place at Plaza Alemania, Iligan City, providing a central and accessible location for all stakeholders to come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate on ways to enhance disaster preparedness and response in the city. Overall, the 2nd Stakeholders meeting served as a platform for collective action and partnership in advancing disaster risk reduction efforts in the most vulnerable communities of Iligan City.
