To expedite the implementation of the FY 2022 Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay-Development Program (LGSF-SBDP), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Iligan City, headed by City Director Maria Maida Daniot spearheaded an interfacing on April 04, with representatives from the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), City Engineer’s Office (CEO) and Barangay Council of Dalipuga. The said activity aims to discuss updates, issues, and concerns of the road concreting project at Sitio Bulalang in the said barangay.

The road concreting project in the barangay is an important infrastructure project that aims to improve road access and promote economic growth in the barangay. However, the acquisition of land title for the project has been a concern for some of the beneficiaries.
During the meeting, Project Development and Monitoring Unit (PDMU) engineer Janzen Paul Wong, provided an update on the progress of the project and highlighted the importance of acquiring the necessary land titles to ensure the smooth implementation of the project. The beneficiaries shared their concerns and issues regarding the acquisition process, including the complexity of the process and the potential delays.

The DILG Iligan City acknowledged the concerns raised by the beneficiaries and assured them that the government would work closely with the City Engineer’s Office to address the issues and ensure that the acquisition process is completed as soon as possible. They also emphasized the importance of compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements of the land acquisition process to ensure the proper and legal use of public funds.

Nilda C. Hamoy, Punong Barangay of Dalipuga, expressed her commitment of expediting the processing of the said document to give enough time for the PDMU to do necessary technical revisions in the project’s Detailed Engineering Design (DED) and Program of Works (POW).
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both the government agencies and the beneficiaries to work together towards the successful completion of the project. The acquisition of the deed of donation for the project is crucial to its implementation and completion, and the DILG Iligan City together with the CPDO and CEO will continue to coordinate closely with the beneficiaries to address any issues and ensure its timely completion.

The project is an important part of the government’s infrastructure development program, and its successful completion will benefit not only the residents in the area but also the entire city. The government remains committed to promoting inclusive and sustainable development and improving the quality of life of the people of Iligan City.
