In a bid to revolutionize public service delivery and enhance citizen experience, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Iligan City, in partnership with the DILG Regional Office, recently organized a briefing and service delivery baseline data collection for the Citizens Satisfaction Index Survey (CSIS). This initiative aims to leverage technology and data-driven approaches to streamline processes and improve governance in Iligan City.

The briefing and data collection activities, held on May 24 at Frosty Bites Garden, Tubod, Iligan City, brought together key stakeholders from various departments within the LGU. The event witnessed the participation of Punong Barangays from twenty-six (26) pilot areas, department heads, and representatives from partner Local Research Institue (LRI), Mindanao State University – Iligan Institue of Technology (MSU-IIT), who will play pivotal roles in the successful implementation of CSIS.

The briefing session served as a platform to disseminate comprehensive information about the CSIS project. Participants gained insights into the objectives, scope, and potential benefits of the system, which is set to transform how public services are delivered in the city. The interactive session facilitated open discussions, allowing stakeholders to address queries, provide valuable feedback, and gain a clear understanding of how CSIS will revolutionize the local government’s service delivery processes.

Following the briefing, Mr. Abu-Al Rasheed B. Tanggol, Program Manager from MSU-IIT, discussed the CSIS data gathering and processing, marking a crucial step toward measuring the impact and performance of CSIS. This phase involved systematic data collection from various service areas and departments within the LGU to establish benchmarks for future evaluations.

The implementation of CSIS represents a significant milestone in Iligan City’s journey toward a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric local government. By leveraging the power of technology, the conduct of the activity aims to provide seamless access to services, facilitate data-driven decision-making, and encourage active citizen participation.

City Director Maria Maida Daniot underscored that the CSIS will enable the LGU to provide better services to its citizens, ensuring their needs are met effectively and promptly.

“The conduct of the briefing and baseline data collection is a crucial step toward transforming public service delivery in Iligan City. We are committed to leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and improve governance,’ she added.

The CSIS is a set of data tools designed to collect and generate citizen feedback on the local government’s service delivery performance and on the citizen’s general satisfaction. It enables the LGUs to empower citizens and communities by making them the center of local administration toward achieving accountable, transparent, participative, and effective local governance.
