A formal unveiling of the “Undivided Lanao Exhibit” took place yesterday at the Ethnic Center and Museum in Barangay Pala-o, showcasing a collection of photographs depicting the unified Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur provinces before their division.

The exhibit features a captivating array of photographs capturing the essence and history of the two provinces, Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur, prior to their separation. The images on display include scenes from the river, Camp Overton’s pier, Lake Lanao, Agus River, Pantar Bridge Lanao, the historic Iligan Market of yesteryears, the Malabang Hospital, General Sumner’s meeting with the Sultans of Bayang and Oato at Camp Vicars, and the tragic passing of Fernando Keithley.

This exhibition serves as a visual journey back in time, commemorating the unity and shared history of these two provinces. The Undivided Lanao Exhibit offers a rare glimpse into the rich heritage and culture that thrived in this region before the division.

The exhibit, which opened its doors on October 12, 2023, will remain accessible to the public until October 20, 2023. Visitors from near and far are invited to explore these evocative images, each telling a story of Lanao’s undivided past. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with the history and culture that defined this region.
