Iligan City, Philippines – In celebration of Business, ICT, Science and Technology, and Cooperative Month, the Iligan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), organized the “Pre-Employment Orientation” event at Robinsons Place Iligan on October 11, 2023.

This event served as a valuable opportunity for senior high school students, job seekers, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) graduates in Iligan to enhance their knowledge about General Labor Standards, job interviews, resume creation, job suitability, and office etiquette. The organizers aimed to equip attendees with the essential skills and insights necessary to enter the workforce successfully.

The “Pre-Employment Orientation” event was provided free of charge and was part of a broader initiative to prepare individuals for the upcoming Business and ICT Month Job Fair 2023, scheduled for October 19-20, 2023, at the Gaisano City Iligan Mall’s 3rd Floor Cinema Lobby. This job fair is expected to bring numerous job opportunities and career prospects for the participants, further contributing to the development of the local workforce.

The Iligan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, in cooperation with PESO and DOLE, is dedicated to supporting the career development and employability of the local population. Through events like the “Pre-Employment Orientation,” they aim to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, ultimately fostering economic growth and prosperity within the community.

This initiative is a testament to the commitment of these organizations to empower individuals and provide them with the tools they need to succeed in today’s competitive job market. It represents a significant step towards enhancing the employability of residents in Iligan and driving economic progress in the region.
