A first in Iligan City – with the aim of bolstering efforts against crime, insurgency, and guaranteeing public safety in the region, the City Government of Iligan hosted the 4th Quarter Full Council Meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) – 10 on December 07, 2023 at Cheradel Suites, Iligan City.

Iligan City Mayor, Hon. Frederick Siao in his welcome message, extended his utmost appreciation to the leaders across the region for attending the crucial gathering.

โ€œYour presence here reflects a shared dedication to fostering an environment where peace and order prevail, enabling our communities to thrive, and our people to lead fulfilling lives. In times like these, when the world is faced with numerous challenges, the significance of regional cooperation cannot be overstatedโ€, Mayor Siao said.

Mayor Siao also expressed his condemnation of the recent bombing incident at MSU-Marawi.

โ€œOur hearts go out to the affected individuals and their families, and we stand together in condemning such acts of violence. It is a stark reminder of the challenges we face in maintaining peace and order, and it underscores the importance of our shared commitment to addressing the root causes of conflict and working towards lasting solutions,โ€ He added.

One of the highlights of the meeting included various updates from special action committees on anti-criminality, anti-insurgency, and public safety. The event also recognized several RPOC members whose valuable contributions played a key role in ensuring and sustaining peace and order and public safety in the region.
