ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–The City Tourism Office (CTO) here organized a Familiarization Tour at Sikyop Ultimate Adventure in Barangay Rogongon on Sept. 8 for media group and travel and tour agencies as one of the activities of the Diyandi Festival.

In the said adventure, tourists can enjoy three iconic destinations which are Hinulosan Cave, Pagangon Falls, and the Underground River.

Higaonon culture is also observed like offering a coin and praying for the safety of the tourists during their adventure.

According to Pat Noel, the tourism operations officer, CTO organized the tour to offer tourists an accessible outdoor adventure and also as part of recovery efforts from the pandemic.

“We organized this especially with the new administration, to recover the lost years, especially with the pandemic. We maximized this time, from July to December to develop new destinations and activities,” he said.

Moreover, the CTO plans to promote affordable tour packages to local tour agencies to attract more tourists.

“In my experience, it is enjoyable. This is a great help to our travel agency because we can promote it. Tourists from other places will know that there is an adventure here,” said Akremie Ali, owner of Rem Travel and Tours.

There is also a restaurant offering organic food and accommodations for overnight.

The sports and recreation venue is just 30 kilometers from the city. It is managed by Sikyop Agriculture Cooperative. (LELA/ PIA-10-Lanao del Norte)
